09/05//2026: 1000 YEARS OF STORY & SONG
Hugely excited to be teaming up with the South West Heritage this Somerset Day-Weekend!
For thousands of years people have gathered around the hearth to share stories and sing songs. Take your place around the fire in the Saxon Hall as we celebrate this ancient tradition in the magnificent Saxon Long Hall at Avalon Archaeology on the Somerset Levels.
Together with singer and violinist Emily Fear, we will lead you on a historical journey, weaving together folk tales, legends and familiar songs from across the ages – from Bede to the Beatles.
With audience participation very much encouraged, this special evening of storytelling and song is not be missed.

30/01/2026: TALES & WASSAIL
OLD NEWS...
Blabbermouth's 2026 kicks off with two shows in collaboration with my friend and folk co-conspirator Rosie May, founder of the utterly bewitching Wessex Hag podcast. On Friday January 30, we will be at Field System Gallery in Asburton, South Devon. We will be embracing the spirit of Wassail with seasonal tales, orchard lore and, of course cider. It's been rumoured that a little light trespassing might also be on the cards!
15/02/2026: WESSEX HAG LIVE
On Sunday February 15, we will be in Bristol at Stoke Croft's Cafe Kino for a show originally scheduled for last October, until it was kiboshed by Covid.
Here, for the very first time, Rosie will be bringing Wessex Hag to life, sharing an original uncanny tale born of the eerie combes and ancient oaks of Somerset's Quantock Hills. Expect storytelling punctuated by live vocalisations and ambient drones.
I will be sharing my brand new re-telling of the classic English folk tale, The Dead Moon, which tells of the moon, descending from the sky in human form, to illuminate the horrors which lurk in darkness.
